Asian women in art

Asian women in art poster Asian Women in Art is one of the projects developed through the Heart of Slough Creative Academy. It aims to involve Asian women in developing their artistic potential in practical, constructive and productive ways from within the community. Mentoring, training and support are offered within a rich cultural vein, creating exciting opportunities to realise talent.

Opportunities abound for the participants to develop existing skills, and to learn new ones. The project started with a number of taster workshops at various venues in and around Slough . Since then, there has been a steady stream of successful workshops and taster sessions that have attracted more and more women to participate. This is an adventure that nurtures talent, grows friendships and support networks, and above all, gives a sense of pride in achievement.

Further education and training are on offer for the more ambitious. OCN accredited courses are being tailor-made for those who have shown an interest in obtaining a qualification. These will be 12-week courses covering specific areas of textiles in great depth. But it's not just for the serious- minded. You can just go to the classes, have fun, and make friends while learning new skills. You will find more information about these courses by going to the Showcase section of this site and clicking on Courses and workshops.
