You must have rhythm to play
or create music if you want to have a future it. Rhythm is something you
are born with. Ninety-nine per cent of people have rhythm.
You can find out if you have rhythm by playing some music and simply tapping your foot or nodding your head to the count of 1,2,3,4 then repeat again 1,2,3,4, and you will slowly develop a pattern. That’s rhythm.
Open one of your hands out wide, grasp the other hand leaving your index and middle fingers open. Clap your fingers onto your open hand to the count of 1,2,3,4. Put some music on, then join the beat of the music by clapping your fingers onto your open hand still staying to the same beat pattern of 1,2,3,4, but you may have to speed it up or slow it down a little.
